Much to the delight and consternation of Shelley collectors worldwide, the sheer volume of wares created by Wileman and Shelley is more than simply daunting, it’s mind-boggling. To the extent that efforts have been made to catalogue these variations, such efforts tend to focus on a subset of Shelley production such as tea ware, earthen ware, or more broadly entire ranges such as Intarsio etc. Although reference works do exist (see Books & Resouces), they also focus more on select interests rather than the broader lines of production. Recognizing the need to provide a different perspective, To The National Shelley China Club is pleased to make available this comprehensive analysis of Shelley and Wileman “Series.”
